Life doesn’t stand still. It would seem that just yesterday there was a glittering watch on every person’s wrist, the newly minted Modern Talking album was playing in the headphones of portable CD players, and those who wanted something spicy were launching Fatal Frame on their brand new PlayStation 2 at midnight. And although all these things are in the past, the memory of them warms the soul. But people are weak. That’s why people forget.

What will happen if for everything forgotten there is a special place, a separate world, once in which the thing acquires a soul?? There will be "Forgotton Anne". I don’t know why, but a group of people calling themselves Throughline Games decided to give a completely unknown YouTuber a gift on May fifteenth, and it’s not even my birthday. And before you start praising the developers, a small disclaimer, which also happens to be the most informative and unbiased part of the review.

Why small? There’s not much to say. Gameplay-wise, Forgotten Anne is nothing special: almost a typical puzzle platformer. We jump with the help of “wings”, we solve puzzles by redirecting through the mechanisms of anima – a substance that not only serves as a source of energy, but also forms the souls of the things that get here. None of the game’s segments hold you back for long, although there are some puzzles whose logic you’ll have to figure out during the process.

The only, but truly remarkable part that distinguishes “Ann” from the same “Inside” is conversations with the inhabitants of a forgotten world: shoes, refrigerators, cinematic televisions. Most dialogues offer choices, and the game itself makes it clear from the start that they have a role to play.

Sometimes talking to a floor lamp is not crazy.

Everything with mechanics. I told you I wouldn’t dwell on it. Because the value of the game is primarily artistic, not gameplay. Dialogues have different outcomes – yes, great, that’s it. But we have already seen this, and more than once. The trick is that the conversations themselves are as important as their consequences. Sarcasm, play on words, self-irony and banter on the topic of the “colorfulness” of the lost – that’s what the locals are called – in general, all the stuff that requires the presence of an “anti-Riannoprachetta” in the team for its appearance is systematically present here, which is rare by today’s standards.

The theater of action https://premiersportskakladionicacasino.co.uk/withdrawal/ itself, the world of lost things, is a unique, absolutely unused theme. Although the main characters are simple in character, there is no trace of the hateful archetypes in history, which is also a plus for the team’s karma. For example, I could never have thought that the red-haired cutie on whose behalf we are exploring the city is not some innocent civilian drawn into a whirlpool of events, or a paladin with a fabulously haunted look, but a local policeman with a license to kill. Nice voice acting is the icing on the cake. Despite the anime face and the Japanese publisher, the game was made in Denmark and voiced in English, so I had some concerns.

The picture and sound do not require any special explanation, you have your own eyes and ears. But I won’t hide it, it was the visual that initially attracted my attention: the trailers and screenshots promised something incredibly beautiful. They didn’t deceive. The game is excellent in both design and execution, and the numerous soundtracks play appropriately to highlight what’s happening on screen. It’s even better live.

Not all mysteries can be solved with anime. Here, for example, the classic is a moving container.

Those of you who have been watching my work for a long time may have noticed that this time I am in no hurry to go into the details of the game and the twists and turns of the plot. They won’t be there. There will be no footage of dialogues or animation inserts either. Every minute of Anne’s adventure is special. No situation is repeated. Shooting them in a review or stream is a crime against all living things. That’s why I won’t show anything. And in general I want to finish as quickly as possible.

“Forgotton Anne” is an ode to excellent taste and 100% handmade. It maintains a balance between all its elements – jumping, riddles and dialogue – without leaning towards one thing. The plot is not capable of surprising with unexpected twists, but it does not sag, maintaining its spirit until the very end. “Forgotten Anne” is not an all-time masterpiece, but an example of the conscientious efforts of talented people; a little pearl and the main surprise of the spring season. Perhaps even just a year.

But there is one thing about the game that I hate with all my heart.

This damn number. She’s offensive. She’s disgusting. It’s like a verdict on the entire gaming community, which I can’t calmly look at. While buggy slop and “troll” releases get their moments of fame and streams of memes, bringing coins to the “creators,” author’s works go unnoticed, and publishers receive a clear signal that it is better to finance another mobile slag – not studios like Throughline Games.

I never ordered advertising or chased numbers, I just did my job and had fun. But now that’s not enough. Therefore, this, and only this time, I ask for your maximum cooperation. Give your thumbs up and repost. I want as many people as possible to know about Forgotton Anne; I want the piece studios to get what’s coming to them; I don’t want the industry to be left with only games with two-digit serial numbers in the title. And I know very well that there were too many “I” and “I want” in this paragraph, but if I’m going to disgrace myself, then in full. A little graphomania won’t make things worse.

But I don’t care. If the publisher does not want to provide marketing for the studio, I will do it. And I hope at the end I can say: “We did it”. And right now I’m busy doing what I created the channel for: talking about a wonderful game.

Looks dangerous, but if Ann falls, the wings will work automatically.

And this time I won’t limit myself to the story. I’ve got ten copies of Forgotton Anne ready. But I won’t give them to you. YOU will take them from me. Next Sunday, the twenty-seventh of May at 1 pm Moscow time, I will create a room in BlazBlue: Centralfiction and fight live with everyone who wants to challenge me for a free copy of the game… And although it sounded pretentious, I haven’t trained properly since I started on YouTube, so you have every chance to bury me. Room password – the name of your reward, without a space, but case sensitive.

And… it’s time for final words. Shin… not "off" this time. I’m counting on you. All the best.
